Christina Aguilera may have gotten off to a rocky start in 2011, but her troubles seemed far behind her when she celebrated her 31st birthday at L.A.’s Spare Room Saturday.
Joined by her fellow Voice mentors Adam Levine, 32, and Blake Shelton, 35, (with wife Miranda Lambert, Aguilera and guests dined on mini-sliders and quesadillas during the intimate soiree.
Aguilera invited 50 close friends and family members to fete the occasion. “Adam, Blake and Miranda all bowled,” a source tells Us Weekly. Other guests played board games like Connect Four, checkers and backgammon.
“Christina’s really competitive and wanted games to be part of the party,” the source explains.
At midnight, Aguilera’s boyfriend Matthew Rutler surprised her with a Marie Antoinette cake from Hansen’s.
“Christina loves costumes and period pieces so it was perfect,” the source says of the Burlesque star. “Everyone had a great time.”
Miranda Lambert is paying tribute to husband Blake Shelton’s late brother with her new single, “Over You.”
Richie Shelton died in a car accident in 1990. The newlyweds wrote the song together about a year ago, and Lambert recorded it for her latest album “Four the Record.” It is the second single released from the album.
The song idea started on a tour bus as they were flipping through TV channels. Shelton’s “Backstory” happened to be re-airing on GAC, and it was at the part where his dad was talking about his brother’s fatal crash. His father said: “You don’t ever get over something like that. You just get used to it.”
The couple turned the TV off and started talking.
“Miranda never had a chance to meet my brother,” Shelton said recently. “I was just a teenager when that happened. So I was telling her about him, what he was like, and we just ended up like we do sometimes, writing a song.”
Richie was only 24 when he died. Shelton was 14 at the time. This was the first time Shelton, now 35, really opened up to Lambert about the tragedy.
“We both actually cried while writing the song,” said Lambert, 28. “That’s the only time I’ve ever gotten that emotional writing a song, and him, too. So, I think the initial emotion came out right that day, and I think you hear it in the lyrics.”
I’ve added arrival and show photos of Miranda and the Pistol Annies (Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley) at The American Country Awards. The girls sang Hell On Heels and looked and sounded amazing!

In case you missed The CMA Awards Wednesday (which I know you didn’t) Miranda performed Baggage Claim and won Female Vocalist Of The Year for the second time. Her performance proves why she is the FVOTY and why she should have been nominated for Entertainer Of The Year. She completely rocked that performance!
