Kudos to Miranda Lambert for topping the country singles charts with her emotional single, “Over You.” This is the fourth time the songstress has reached the No. 1 spot, but it will likely hold a special place for her, since she wrote the tune with her husband, Blake Shelton, about the death of his older brother.
“We pick and choose what we want to do together as artists,” Miranda says of her spouse, “because we don’t ever want the business to get in the way of our personal relationship. So when we write together, we kind of step away from being husband and wife, and we just become artists that respect each other. And it’s a really good relationship, and I think doing that every now and then and keeping it special is what makes it work.”
“Over You” has also been certified gold by the RIAA, and so has the tune’s album, Four the Record.

Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley and other country stars have signed up for the inaugural Watershed Music Festival outside Seattle.
The new three-day festival will be held Aug. 3-5 at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wash.
A news release announcing the festival says tickets go on sale May 5 and are limited to 25,000. Fans will be able to camp out and late-night sets are scheduled.
The Watershed joins a growing number of multi-day country music festivals around the nation and is the first at the venue, which hosts the annual Sasquatch Music Festival.
Other stars scheduled to perform include Kix Brooks, Sara Evans, Dwight Yoakam, Uncle Kracker, Brantley Gilbert and Thompson Square. More performers will be announced at a later date.
She’s the reigning CMA and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year, and now Miranda Lambert can add the honor of being one of People magazine’s most beautiful people in the world. The blond bombshell is included in the magazine’s annual Most Beautiful People issue — an accomplishment all the more meaningful since she admits she doesn’t fit the typical Hollywood mold.
“All these stars are so tiny, and they spend their lives trying to be skinny,” the singer shares. “I’m representing normal girls. It’s OK to have a little bit of curve. I’m happy with my body. So many girls come up to me and say, ‘Thank you for being normal,’ and I’m proud of that.”
Miranda does report, however, that she has taken a healthier approach to eating in recent years. “Now instead of Cheetos, I choose almonds,” she tells Us Weekly. “No mayonnaise, no potatoes or bread … really just vegetables and meat.”
Other famous faces on People’s list of beautiful women include Sofia Vergara, Charlize Theron, Christina Hendricks, Michelle Williams and Kate Middleton. Beyoncé graces the cover as the most beautiful person of 2012. See the People article here.
Miranda is continuing her On Fire tour, which now includes her all-girl group, the Pistol Annies, as well as Jerrod Niemann and Chris Young. Her upcoming dates include stops in Nebraska, California and her hometown of Nashville. See the complete concert schedule here.
