The Tennessean — Country music fans can wake up to Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert on Wednesday morning when the pair appear on “Good Morning America” on ABC. Their appearance is to advance the 48th annual CMA Awards that will air at 7 p.m. Wednesday from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on the network.
Urban will perform on the morning show, which will tape around 7 a.m., from the plaza in front of Bridgestone Arena. It will air locally an hour later on the network. Lambert will join meteorologist Ginger Zee and “Good Morning America” contributor Tim Tebow, who will report live from Nashville.
In addition two awards will be announced during “Good Morning America”: CMA musical event of the year and music video of the year.
With nine nominations, Lambert is the top nominee going into the 48th annual CMA awards. Urban has four nominations. He and Lambert are nominated together in the musical event category for their duet “We Were Us.” They will compete against each other for entertainer of the year and album of the year.
