CMT.Com — At Miranda Lambert’s intimate City Winery show on Wednesday (Jan. 20) night in Nashville, she admitted to the crowd that her 2015 wasn’t that great. And that she had the scars to prove it. And the perfect song to go along with it.
It’s called “Scars.”
Her guitarist Scotty Wray wrote it 16 years ago and Lambert said, “I have been in love with it for that long.
“Tonight I’m going to try and sing it,” she said. “I was never damaged enough to sing a song called ‘Scars.’ It’s something you have to sell and really feel — and go through shit, basically — to execute.”
The song is about the scars that serve as reminders of all you’ve gone though, with lyrics like, “Even if the world could look inside us, they might miss the bandage on our hearts.”
Before they performed the song, just the two of them, Lambert and Wray showed off the matching tattoos they got on their right arms to commemorate their rough 2015.
At Wednesday’s show, several allies on Lambert’s talent squad — Ashley Monroe, Nicolle Galyon, Shane McAnally, Charles Kelley, Collin Raye, Maren Morris and Brent Cobb — took turns onstage, showing her that she might have had a bad year, but she has really good friends.
On July 22, 2015 Miranda Lambert was a special guest at Ashley Monroe’s album release party. They performed Heart Like Mine. Check out the video below:
Country Weekly — Miranda Lambert is leaping further into her partnership with Ram Trucks with a new advertising campaign for the popular brand.
The campaign includes television spots, print ads, videos and a new song “inspired by the shared spirit of Ram trucks and Miranda Lambert,” called “Roots and Wings,” which Miranda wrote and recorded.
The first print ad will run in the Feb. 2 issue of Country Weekly, featuring Miranda on the cover, which hits newsstands Jan. 23. The campaign is designed to coincide with Miranda’s current Certified Platinum Tour. The silver Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn, just like the one Miranda owns, is the official truck of Miranda’s tour and will tow her Airstream trailer to each venue.
“I am very inspired by what the Ram brand stands for—being who you are, working hard, staying true to your roots,” Miranda said in a release about the campaign. “I wanted to write a song that would represent all of those things. ‘Roots and Wings’ is personal to me about where I come from and where I am going.”
The music video for Miranda’s latest single Automatic off her upcoming album Platinum (which you can pre-order now by clicking here) has been released. Check it out below and stay tuned for captures!
